A physician from the Catholic University of Chile with a Clinical Laboratory graduate degree from the same institution, Patricia is currently head of the Microbiology Unit of the Clinical Laboratory Service of the Catholic University Health Network. She is a former President of the Chilean Association of Infectious Diseases and a member of the Medical Society of Clinical Laboratories.
She is also a scholar at the Catholic University of Chile, with more than 100 publications in the fields of bacterial resistance, microbiological diagnoses and tuberculosis, and has published a book on Clinical Microbiology and 6 chapters of books related to her fields of research.
